BDA/DAS Systems

Public Safety personnel as well as commercial users face a continuous challenge to maintain or improve the coverages of their systems or connectivity within buildings and municipalities. The rapid growth of mobile networks and other RF signals places greater demands on coverage and capacity of existing and new communication suites. In an in-building situation, these demands are not always fixed factors at the outset, and operators must make allowances for growth. Emergency situations require that first responders have adequate communications inside buildings. AMK Services provides VHF and UHF bi-directional amplifiers that can be the backbone of an effective distributed antenna system (DAS).

Efforts are also underway to develop and implement national level model codes for public safety in-building communications, as seen by recent initiatives at National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the International Code Council (ICC).

AMK Services has extensive experience in the engineering, design installation and maintenance of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) networks to improve signal strength and network capacity. We design both in indoor and outdoor DAS solutions for the private and public sector. Our venues include:

  • Hospitals and medical centers
  • Stadiums and Convention Centers
  • College Dorms, Classrooms and Administrative Buildings
  • Hotels and Resorts
  • Outside Public Areas with low RF Coverage

For an indoor solution, DAS network, remote antennas are placed throughout a building and are connected with Cat 5 or fiber optic cable to single or multiple hubs depending on the size of the project

For outdoor solutions, DAS network consists of a hub which links strategically placed antenna locations to provide users with greatly improved coverage.
